Michael Owen's daughter has been confirmed as a new Love Island contender.
Michael, 42, will be keeping an eye on his 19-year-old daughter Gemma in the famed Love Island villa for the next ten weeks as she searches for true love.
Gemma, who has a large Instagram following and is already a celebrity in her own right, has set her sights on winning the ITV2 dating programme.
Gemma has indicated that she, like her renowned father, has a competitive drive.
Gemma explained why she wanted to participate:
“I’m open to finding love, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic summer. I was dating someone, but it didn’t work out, so I figured, “Why not?”
Ahead of the series, Gemma has insisted that she’s not afraid to step on some toes to get what she wants when it comes to coupling up and finding the perfect man for her.
“I’ve competed for Great Britain in dressage since I was 11 years old. I’ve travelled across Europe competing in big arenas in big competitions. I would say I’m very competitive.”
“At the same time, I’m not going to muck up things for someone who is in a committed relationship or come in the way of a couple who is truly in love. “I wouldn’t do something to another female that I wouldn’t want them to do to me.”
“I would say I’m lively, flirty, and fiery,” Gemma said, revealing what she’ll offer to the show.
I think I’m good at offering advice, a good listener, and an honest person.”
The 19-year-old also shared what she plans to bring to this year’s Love Island villa.
“I always go for what I want when it comes to relationships.” At the same time, I’m not going to ruin anything for someone who is in a committed relationship or come in the way of a couple that is in love. I would never do something to another girl that I wouldn’t want done to me.”
